Boracay Island beach pictures

Posted on Apr.12, 2012, under Boracay Island

The beach of Boracay Island is supposed to be one of the nicest beaches on the Philippines and after seeing tons of beaches on the Philippines I have to say it’s true. Of course the White Beach is very nice but you should also take a look at the other beaches that are a bit more outside. Once I rented a tricycle and inspected almost every single beach on Boracay Island and some of those beaches looked just heavenly. Some of those beaches where empty, no people were around although it looked like in paradise there. That’s something I like a lot because although White Beach is a really nice place to be, there are a lot of people, mostly tourists of course. So if you stay in a hotel near White Beach and want to stay on a forlorn beach then just rend a tricycle and do the same I did! Since pictures say more than thousand words please check out the pics I took with my Canon camera.

Leisure time facilities on Boracay Island

Posted on Mar.18, 2012, under Boracay Island

There is no other island in the Philippines that has comparable leisure time facilities. That’s also a reason why I come to Boracay Island again and again in my vacation time. You can do so many different nice things, you can either just be lazy and enjoy laying in the sun or you can enjoy an activity holiday with tons of different activities. Sailing, kite surfing (only on the back of the island, where the wind is strong enough), para sailing, riding a banana boat… everything is possible on Boracay Island! There are also a lot of diving schools, so you can also explore the underwater world and it does not matter if you are an experienced diver or never dived before. Who does not want to get wet at all can still check out the underwater world with the glass-bottom boat, this costs about 10 EURO and you can see the interesting fishes and other underwater animals through a glass panel while having a drink. I’d say just check out the leisure time facilities on Boracay Island yourself, I’m sure you will find something that you like!

The sunset on Boracay Island

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

Everybody knows the perfect sunsets you see in travel catalogs or in movies on TV. Well, on Boracay Island it’s exactly like this, it’s just perfect! Although I’m far from being a good photographer (I just started taking pics, shame on me), my camera is pretty good, if not one of the best. So the pics shouldn’t be too bad. At least those pictures look pretty good to me. I took the pics that you see in this post here on White Beach, which is near the hotel Boracay Regency. The sunset there is so nice that hundreds of people attend that place. I didn’t really understand why so many people cam to this place because actually the sunset is nice everywhere on White Beach.

First class hotel Boracay West Cove

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

One of the best hotels on Boracay Island is the Boracay West Cove. It’s a very impressive hotel which is build into a mountain face and can be considered a calm place with not that much hectic that you know from other hotels or places. It’s perfect if you just want to have a nice rest. The only thing that I found a little a shame is that the hotel does not have the beach right in front of it but the rooms are very nice and you have a glorious view. I was surprised about the prices of those rooms, of course it’s not cheap to stay at such a nice place but it was much cheaper than what I expected. In the off season you pay between 5400 and 12800 Peso and in the main season you pay about 8000 to 17000 Peso. The best rooms in the Boracay West Cove hotel have an own porch, very nice furniture and superb equipment.

So if you want to spend a nice, relaxing time in this hotel on Boracay Island you can get more information here:

My SPA experience at Tirtaspa

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

Those of you who plan to visit Boracay Island should really rest a little and forget about the stressful everyday life. Often you go to such a nice place and just want to see as much as possible but totally forget to give your body a little rest. Your body needs to rest too! I have to admit that I loved going to the sauna in Germany and I miss that a little on the Philippines but I found a new way to relax here, a way that I didn’t know when I was in Germany. There are a lot of SPAs in Asia and most of them seem like a little paradise, just perfect to relax your body and your mind.

When I was traveling through Boracay, a really heavenly looking entrance portal catched my attention. It came to my attention because it reminded me at the Balinestic temple complex. So I grabbed my new Canon camera and asked for an entry and guess what, within a few seconds I was inside and it really looked like a small paradise in there. To be more concrete, it was like a little Asian paradise, the Asian style was very dominant. I noticed that Asian culture and religion must have played a role when creating this neat little place. After taking pics of this place for about thirty minutes, me and my Philippine wife had our 2.5 hour SPA experience there and even my wife loved it, she’s usually very skeptical when it comes to such things. So what I can say is that I had a very nice and relaxing afternoon.

If you want to have such a nice time in Tirtaspa too, simply tell the tricycle driver to take you to Tambisann, right behind the Sabong (that’s the place where you can see cock fights).

Here you can get some more information about this nice place:

The beach awakes when it starts getting dark in Boracay Island

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

A perfect evening on Boracay Island on the White Beach starts with a nice sunset. Then it’s the time the nightlife starts there and then is the time for “All You can eat”. You will also notice a lot of intrusive seller of pearls but that is normal on Boracay Island. But if you look a little you will find some nice places pretty quickly without too much hurly-burly and hectic. I love eating at the Mongolic barbecue places, there you can have really good food for only 250 Peso. Of course you can’t compare those restaurants with the expensive hummer restaurants on White Beach but the food is still very good and of course much cheaper. But if you love hummer there is no way around those hummer restaurants because I’d say on no other place on this planet you can get better hummer! The Lobster costs about 200-250 Peso for 100 grams and shrimps costs about 100-150 Peso for 100 gram. You can get Spider Lobster, Rob Lobster and other Asian hummers. What I like most about those evenings is going back to the hotel on the beach. I don’t mean walking on the boardwalk but directly on the waterline with your feet in the water.

Kite boarding on the waves in Boracay Island

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

Kite boarding is a trend sport and you can find lots of kite boarding people on the beach on Boracay Island. The wind conditions are just perfect for kite boarding and the water is warm. In the last couple of years a big kite boarding fan base established itself on Boracay Island and this fan base gets bigger every year. When I looked at the people kite surfing, there were around 100 people doing so. It really looks impressive when the kite surfer get pulled through the wind on the blue water and reach a speed of about 25-40 Mph. If you don’t know kite surfing at all it’s never too late to check it out, it’s really a lot of fun!

Beach wedding – Getting married on the beach of Boracay Island

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

I guess lot of people in Germany and everywhere else would love to get married on a nice beach, only with friends being there. Beach wedding – These words make women already happy when they hear them and they get wet eyes. The last time I was on Boracay Island, I had the possibility to attend such a wedding. It was a foreigner who got married to a nice Philippine woman. The marriage was managed by the Boracay Regency. They did a really nice job with the beach fireworks, I think the whole island was able to see that impressive, huge firework. There was also a nice dinner in the “Mandarin” and there was a live music band. I guess this couple will never read what I am writing here but I still want to say:  Thank you!

Boat tour from Boracay Island to Crystal Cave Island

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

If you plan to spend your next vacation on Boracay Island you should really consider going on a boat tour. There are lots of cheap offers but in my opinion, if you go on a boat tour there, you shouldn’t be too tight with your money and even the more expensive but very good boat tours are not really too expensive. I did a boat tour that included to snorkel, going to Crocodile Island, Crystal Cave Island and around the island Boracay with a dinner in the evening in a small beach restaurant. I’m sure you are curious what such a tour costs and of course I can tell you that: I payed 3000 Peso for the boat, 20 Peso for the snorkel equipment (20 Peso for one person) and a 200 Peso entry fee for Crystal Cave Island but visiting Crystal Cave Island is something you just have to do, it’s just too nice there! The snorkeling was not that spectacular because there were not that many nice corals and the fish only came to say hello because they were fed. Too bad I can’t take my nice new canon camera under water, so I can’t show you pics of those fishes. I didn’t expect much more than a cave on Crystal Cave but was surprised about a really nice island that had much more nice things than just the two water caves. The waves were too strong, so I wasn’t able to take nice pics on the boat. On the island there are a lot of viewing platforms and grill places. It’s possible to stay there overnight but prepare yourself mentally for prices that are around 25000 Peso for one night (no that was not a zero too much). During our two hour stay on Crystal Cave we went into a restaurant which is right next to a first class hotel called Shangri La, which didn’t look too nice in my eyes. If you happen to go to the same restaurant I can just urge you to try the Barbecue Chicken, it’s extremely tasty!

The weather on Boracay Island

Posted on Mar.02, 2012, under Boracay Island

Most of the people who plan to visit Boracay Island wonder how the weather is like on the Philippines. It’s easy to answer this question: Most of the time it’s sunny and the weather is just perfect, just sometimes there is a heavy tropical rain. There was a lot of rain the year after el Nino 2010, like everywhere on the Philippines. Under this text you can see a satellite photo of the Asian region that gives you an overview about upcoming typhoons and the weather there in general. You can read about typhoon warnings on Typhoon2000, there you can also get the most recent weather news and satellite pictures. Everything on that page is in English, so if you are reading this text here you won’t have a problem understand what is going on on this site. I wish you a good weather when you go to Boracay Island!
